News and Announcements
The Palmetto Region has switched from Webpoint to SportsEngine for registration. There are some noticeable differences. First off, every player will initially purchase a tryout membership. After you have accepted a position on a team, the Club will send you an invitation to join that team. At that point, you will register for full membership. All of the details can be found here: https://www.palmettoregionvb.org/reginfo. Registration is now open for players.
More information on tryouts, an information meeting and more will be coming soon!
Your Seaside Staff is working hard on plans for the 2021 Club season. Because of the current COVID environment, there will be changes- at the club and the tournament/region level. There will be more obstacles as opposed to years past, but that won’t stop us from doing everything in our power to have a fun and productive season. The Palmetto Region Commissioner says the word of the year will be “Flexibility.”
There will be a new website to sign up through. SportsEngine has replaced Webpoint (information on the changeover to follow.) Tryout registrations will be required and then once placed on a team you will need to register for a full membership. Tryouts themselves may be different. Practices will be different and at new locations. We will have plans in place for players’ health and safety and contingency plans for tournament cancellations. Once plans get finalized, check our webpage, Facebook page or your emails for season information.
We are planning on heading out to local schools to meet parents and players to introduce ourselves and our program. We will also have an organizational meeting if you are not able to attend one of the school-specific meetings. Looking forward to seeing our #SeasideFamily again soon!
With Lauren Madden’s signing with Columbia International University today, three of our graduating seniors have signed to play volleyball at the next level. In addition to Lauren Madden, Hope Hamilton (Brevard College) and her sister Jasmine Hamilton (Converse College) will be taking their skills from their respective high school teams and the Seaside Volleyball Club to play in college. “These three girls exemplify the energy, spirit and sportsmanship of the Seaside Volleyball Club and I’m sure their college coaches are looking forward to getting them on campus. I’m proud to have had them wear our colors and wish them the best of luck in their futures.”-David Bly-Seaside Volleyball Club Director
It’s looking more and more like Seaside won’t be able to host a camp this summer due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We support our players participating in other camps and bringing those skills back to us when club volleyball resumes. Here is a new camp that was brought to my attention.
Your Seaside Coaches all wish we had the opportunity to have the season finish out as planned. The health and well-being of all of our players and families is of the utmost importance. We all wish that we would’ve been able to continue all of the great progress we’ve made this year. Our coaches are very proud of the improvement that all of the teams made over the past few months. Please don’t stop working on your skills as school season tryouts will be here before you know it. If you need any support from your coaches, don’t hesitate to reach out!
Once all of the precautions of this illness get worked out, (hopefully sooner than later!) we plan on hosting a camp over the summer. In addition to that, we are already working on ways to improve the club. Parent and Player Surveys will be sent out in the coming weeks to help give us the feedback we need when making decisions about the future of the club. We urge you to fill out the surveys so we can make Seaside 2021 better than ever!
There will be announcements about all of the Seaside activities including a camp, tryouts and our next season on our website as well as our Facebook page. Please keep an eye out. We hope to see all of you back next season!
We do want to say “farewell and good luck” to our graduating seniors. They unfortunately had their final season cut short. Thank you for being a part of Seaside and we hope to see you again soon! #4 Lauren Madden, #9 Kailee Bly, #10 Jasmine Hamilton and #11 Hope Hamilton.
