News and Announcements
The Seaside Volleyball Club is excited to announce our first-ever summer camp for rising 5th to 12th graders. The camp will take place at the May River High School Gymnasium (601 New Riverside Road, Bluffton) from 10am to 4pm. The cost for the camp will be $50 payable by cash or Venmo (@seasidevolleyballclub.) Bring lunch, a healthy snack and any additional drinks you may need (bottled water will be provided.)
You’ll learn how to simplify and improve your volleyball playing mechanics and skill execution as well as how to increase your on-court performance as a player. Through Coach Mike Burtha, USAV High Performance Coach, we teach USA Volleyball specific techniques and skills. The same as the USA Women’s National Volleyball Team ranked #1 in the world.
The camp attendance will be limitied to 60 players. Sign up via the tab on our website www.seasidevolleyballclub.com
The document Seaside_Combined_Summer_Camp_Flyer.pdf was attached to this post.
We at Seaside want to thank all of the players and parents for all of their support during the 2020-2021 season. It was very challenging dealing with all of the COVID restrictions, but it was worth it to be able to have a complete season. We will be working through the summer to be ready for the 2021-2022 season. We thank everyone for filling out their surveys so we can make Seaside better! We take those comments seriously and will do everything we can to implement suggestions.
Here’s are some of the things we’re currently working on:
Two Summer Camp Days-We are finalizing the details, but are planning on having two Saturdays at the end of July to have a skills camp. As always, we will make it affordable but also FUN! We are hoping to announce details soon.
School tryout prep-Just like last summer, we will have an open gym opportunity for Seaside players to prepare for the upcoming school season tryouts.
Specialized small group clinics-Working with one of USA Volleyball’s High Performance Coaches.
Volleyball Parents Learning Clinics-Expand your appreciation of volleyball strategy including player positions and responsibilities, rotations, lineups, substitutions, team chemistry, referee calls and signals, etc. This will be in person sessions with coaches.
Coaches Continuing Education Program-We are going to keep improving the club by enhancing our coaches skill set.
Communication Improvements-From our website to Facebook to team texting, we are going to improve communication within the club.
Getting practices back in Bluffton-We are excited that we will be able to resume practicing at the local schools in Bluffton.
Tryouts for the 2021-2022 season will most likely be towards the end of October for players 14 and under and in the beginning of November for those players 15 and up. Check our website and Facebook page for those announcements.
The Palmetto Region has switched from Webpoint to SportsEngine for registration. There are some noticeable differences. First off, every player will initially purchase a tryout membership. After you have accepted a position on a team, the Club will send you an invitation to join that team. At that point, you will register for full membership. All of the details can be found here: https://www.palmettoregionvb.org/reginfo. Registration is now open for players.
More information on tryouts, an information meeting and more will be coming soon!
